Obama continuously tells us he has made jobs a priority. ‎”I will not rest until everyone has a job, a good wage, and benefits.” -Barack Obama, July 8, 2010.” So how does this assertion square with the revelation that Obama’s Jobs Council has not met in a year?

Politico reports:

“President Barack Obama’s Jobs Council hit a notable milestone on Thursday: one year without an official meeting. The 26-member panel is also set to expire at the end of the month, unless Obama extends its tenure.

The group, formally known as the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, last convened on Jan. 17, 2012 for a White House session where it presented formal recommendations to Obama. It was the panel’s fourth official meeting since it was created in early 2011.

The Politico article does a good overview of the inactions of this “extremely important group”. And with reported unemployment at 12.2 million, and the unemployment rate at 7.8%., it’s a shame that the Jobs Council turned out to be another sham.

Unsurprisingly, the White House and the head of the Jobs Council, Jeffrey Immelt, had no comment.
